Ecosystem development for smart mobility solutions

Realizing a pre-deployment public private ecosystem for innovative smart mobility solutions.

The Netherlands wants to be and to remain a frontrunner in the development and application of innovations for traffic, transport and mobility. Key topics are Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS), Smart Mobility & Logistics, Truck Platooning, Automated Driving and Traffic Management 2.0.
The province of North-Brabant, and especially the Eindhoven Brainport region, is home of Smart Mobility. Metropolitan areas have a serious ambition with regard to improving accessibility, air quality and the overall living quality.
To accelerate the pre-deployment of innovative smart mobility solutions the province of North-Brabant asked for the development of a public-private ecosystem in which market parties are stimulated to safely develop and test new solutions in real life. The province asked Buck Consultants International to implement this ecosystem and to manage the projects within the ecosystem.

• Development of an implementation strategy
• Organization of alignment of authorities to live up to the ambition
• Compiling a call for actions based on R&D legislative framework (innovation procurement)
• Facilitation of consortia to realize proposals

Realization of a Public Private Smart Logistics Ecosystem which offers:

• Single point of contact to regional and national public organizations
• A legal framework that is innovation-oriented
• Delivering basic services and facilities if requested
• (Financial) Support
• Smart mobility community containing over 5,000 members
