Project Summary

This study analysed what the opportunities are for the development area Blue Gate in Antwerp, and what type of companies can locate here with a specific focus on city logistics.

The BCI study concluded that there are many development options for Blue Gate Antwerp.

One characteristic is the connection with the city. There is demand from companies that want to supply the city (urban distribution), that want to ‘feed the city’ (specifically food market, catering) that want to guarantee the health of the inhabitants (hub and storage for medicines) and that want to supply the city's construction works in a smart way (prefab construction elements). An additional advantage is that the site is located on the water and can thus be served by both road transport and inland navigation.

Result

The study gave the developers of the site a clear perspective on the development that can take place here, the type of property and the most promising customer segments. This has taken the development of this location clearly to the next level.
