Establish a supply chain strategy for a global logistics service provider to successfully target an industry vertical.

Project summary

BCI assessed the healthcare market in 10 countries; assessed global competitors in the field of contract logistics, freight forwarding, customs clearance, and express services; interviewed (potential) customers in the industry vertical; identified legislative and regulatory aspects, and analyzed the general economic and political environment (PEST analyses).

  • Conducting competitor analyses by functional logistics area
  • Conducting voice of the customer interviews to map their requirements and to facilitate a segmented supply chain strategy
  • Assessing all legislative and regulatory requirements by country and region
  • Developing of value propositions by segment to support sustainable future business growth
  • Development of a detailed business case and related implementation roadmap to successfully execute the logistics strategy
Results

The client implemented the logistics strategy and expanded its business in 2 out of the 10 studied markets, could target 10 large accounts in the industry, redesigned and customized its service portfolio to the needs of the market and was able to remain ahead of the competition.
